Rivian has introduced new California Dune Edition versions of its 2025 R1S SUV and R1T pickup truck, designed for tackling the sand and other types of rough terrain.
Unveiled on Wednesday, these limited-production models enhance Rivian’s off-road prowess with added features and exclusive styling. While Rivian hasn’t disclosed how many units will be built, orders are already open.
2025 Rivian R1T California Dune Edition
Pricing starts at $107,700 for the R1S California Dune Edition and $101,700 for the R1T California Dune Edition, both including a $1,800 destination charge.
Both models come exclusively in the Tri-Motor configuration, featuring one front motor and two rear motors that deliver a staggering 850 hp. This setup enables blistering 0-60 mph acceleration in just 2.9 seconds, while the range estimate comes in at 329 miles.
2025 Rivian R1S California Dune Edition
Rivian vehicles already feature a Soft Sand mode, optimized for dune driving, but the California Dune Edition ups the ante with extra standard equipment. This includes Rivian’s All-Terrain Package, underbody protection, a spare tire, and model-exclusive 20-inch wheels. The package also comes with useful off-road accessories, such as recovery boards with mounts, and for the R1T, a powered tonneau cover with a revised design.
Adding to the exclusivity, the California Dune Edition models come in special exterior and interior color options. For the exterior there’s the color California Dune, shown here, while inside there are additional options, including a unique two-tone configuration.
