Porsche has been testing prototypes for an updated 2024 Cayenne in the wild for well over a year. Lotus Technology, the electric-car maker owned by China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., agreed to merge with a blank-check company in a transaction that values the combined entity at about $5.4 billion. L Catterton Asia Acquisition Corp. will combine with the EV making subsidiary of the British carmaking group that Geely acquired back in 2017, the two said in a statement Tuesday. Mini removed the 6-speed manual from its options list early last year, citing at the time supply issues and promising a return of the transmission at a later date. It lived up to its promise last fall, when it reintroduced the manual transmission as an option on its signature Hardtop.
