Volkswagen has approved an EV slotting below the ID.4 for the North American market, and it’s considering a battery plant in Ontario, according to German business daily Handelsblatt. The modern Bizzarrini’s follow up to its 5300 GT continuation car has been confirmed as a V-12 supercar to be called the Giotto. The new car draws its name from Giotto Bizzarrini, who founded the original Bizzarrini in Italy back in 1964. That company built the stunning 5300 GT but only survived until 1969, with its name eventually revived in 2020 by Kuwaiti investor Rezam Al Roumi. Ford’s not done building insane EV concepts to flex its electric muscles. On Friday, while announcing its return to F1 racing with Red Bull Racing in 2026, Ford released a graphic showing how racing leads to winning products. One of the images was the outline of a yet-to-be-revealed electric pickup demonstrator, presumably based on the F-150 Lightning. Volvo is planning to expand its EV lineup at the behest of parent company Geely, Reuters reported Thursday. The automaker plans to launch six new EVs through 2026, according to the report, which cites two anonymous sources with knowledge of Volvo’s product plans. Mercedes-Benz has introduced a mid-cycle update for the GLE-Class to keep the popular mid-size luxury SUV looking and feeling fresh. A modified Nissan Ariya electric crossover will journey from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole in an attempt to prove the capabilities of EVs. The 16,777-mile, 10-month trip is expected to kick off in March, Nissan announced on Wednesday. Modifications to the Ariya include 39-inch BF Goodrich tires, widened wheel arches (to clear the new tires), and suspension changes, but the powertrain and battery pack were left unmodified.
