The world of hypercars just got more exciting with the debut of the Pagani Huayra Epitome, a bespoke creation that stands out as the first and only manual transmission version of the Huayra. This unique model, designed for the true driving enthusiast, is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 engine that produces a staggering 852 hp.
The Epitome is a significant milestone for Pagani, a company renowned for its high-performance vehicles since its founding in the early 1990s. While the Zonda, Pagani’s first model, and the latest Utopia, introduced in 2022, were both available with manual transmissions, the Pagani Huayra has only offered six- and seven-speed single-clutch units until now. The Epitome breaks this tradition with its seven-speed manual gearbox, developed by U.K.-based Xtrac. This advanced transmission features a triple clutch system, promising faster torque transmission and greater engine response.
Pagani emphasizes that the Epitome embodies the pinnacle of automotive technology. The Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbo V-12 engine delivers 852 hp and 811 ft-lbs of torque, matching the performance of the Utopia. This powerhouse engine redlines at 6,700 rpm and drives the rear axle via the transmission’s electronic differential. While exact acceleration figures are yet to be disclosed, the Epitome boasts an impressive top speed of 217.5 mph.
The Epitome also features several mechanical upgrades. It is equipped with a six-way titanium exhaust and a “blown” diffuser designed to enhance downforce. The hypercar’s adaptive suspension system has been upgraded to minimize body movement, and it includes a “Super Soft” mode for improved drivability on less-maintained roads.
Aesthetically, the Huayra’s design has been subtly refined for the Epitome. The front and rear bumpers have been revised, and the grille has been updated. An integrated rear wing adds to the car’s dynamic appearance. The body is finished in an elegant dark blue exposed carbon fiber, complemented by gold accents and rims. Inside, the cabin retains its distinctive steampunk-inspired design, ensuring that the interior remains as extravagant as ever.
The Epitome is the latest creation from Pagani’s special vehicles division, Grandi Complicazioni. Although pricing details have not been released, the unique nature and advanced features of this hypercar suggest it will command a premium price. The introduction of the Epitome not only adds a new chapter to the Huayra’s legacy but also caters to enthusiasts who cherish the art of manual driving.
