Toyota puts more Supra and Land Cruiser classic spares into production

Toyota has been reproducing spare parts for some of its most beloved classics in recent years, including iconic models like the Supra, AE86, and even the uber-rare 2000GT.

These parts are developed by Toyota’s Gazoo Racing motorsports division under the GR Heritage Parts Project, which has been running since 2019.

Toyota has now announced that these parts will be available at Toyota dealerships, just like regular genuine parts, starting in February. However, the automaker has not specified which markets will receive them.

In addition, Toyota has expanded its catalog of classic spare parts, introducing new components for the A70- and A80-generation Supras, the 40-, 60-, 70-, and 80-series Land Cruisers, and the AE86.

The new parts range from relatively simple items, such as switches and dashboard components for the Supras, to more complex components like an engine wiring harness for the AE86. For the Land Cruisers, available parts include fuel and oil gauges, fuses, and select grille pieces.

Supporting classic models was once primarily the domain of exotic brands like Aston Martin and Ferrari, whose vintage cars are often considered high-value investments. However, in recent years, mainstream automakers have also entered the space.

Toyota, known for the durability and longevity of its vehicles, has been one of the most active in this area. In 2022, it even launched an in-house restomod service known as the Kinto Factory. Currently available only in Japan, this service allows customers to have their vehicles restored and upgraded with modern features directly at the factory.
