- Audi has revealed the new Q6 Sportback E-Tron
- The coupe-like version of Audi’s electric crossover starts sales next spring or summer
- Pricing information will be announced closer to the market launch
The 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron electric compact crossover is due in U.S. showrooms later this year, and will be joined next year by a more dynamically styled Q6 Sportback E-Tron that Audi revealed on Monday at the 2024 Paris auto show in both Q6 E-Tron and sportier SQ6 E-Tron guises.
Similar to Sportback versions of Audi’s other crossovers, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron adopts a coupe-like profile that swaps storage space for sportier proportions. Audi quotes 18 cubic feet of storage, which expands to 48.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat. In the regular Q6 E-Tron the maximum storage is 53.9 cubic feet. In both cases there’s also 2.2 cubic feet in the front trunk.
Otherwise there isn’t much difference between the two body styles, though varying aerodynamic properties may result in different range estimates. Audi hasn’t mentioned any range estimates for the Q6 Sportback E-Tron but the regular Q6 E-Tron delivers up to 321 miles of EPA-rated range in rear-wheel-drive guise and 307 miles with all-wheel drive. No figures for the regular SQ6 E-Tron have been published.
The Q6 Sportback E-Tron range will be offered exclusively with all-wheel drive in the U.S. A dual-motor powertrain will deliver 422 hp (456 hp with launch control) in the Q6 Sportback E-Tron and 483 hp (509 hp with launch control) in the SQ6 Sportback E-Tron. The top speeds are a governed 130 and 143 mph, respectively, and the towing capacity is 4,400 pounds.

The Q6 E-Tron range rides on Volkswagen Group’s new PPE modular platform designed for high-volume electric vehicles from the automaker’s premium brands. The platform is shared with the electric Porsche Macan that arrived for 2024. In the Q6 Sportback E-Tron, the standard battery for the U.S. will be a 100-kwh unit (94.4-kwh gross capacity).
Thanks to an 800-volt electrical system, Audi said it can take as little as 21 minutes to charge the battery from 10-80% using a DC fast-charger.
Standard features in the Q6 Sportback E-Tron include a curved display comprising an 11.9-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen for infotainment. Other features, either standard or available, include a 10.9-inch front passenger touchscreen, a 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, a panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats and steering wheel, and adaptive dampers with air suspension.

An Audi spokesperson said the Q6 Sportback E-Tron and SQ6 Sportback E-Tron will likely arrive as 2025 models, and that pricing information will be announced closer to the market launch next spring or next summer. The regular Q6 E-Tron and SQ6 E-Tron are priced from $65,095 and $74,195, including a $1,295 destination charge, and the Sportback versions will likely attract a small premium.
More Q6 E-Tron models are in the pipeline. These will include a high-performance RS Q6 E-Tron and possibly a wild off-roader to celebrate Audi’s Dakar Rally participation.
