The first-ever Ferrari Luce has finally been auctioned at the Monterey sale by RM Sotheby’s. The Italian EV chassis no. 0 has fetched an incredible $40 million, which is much, much higher than the estimated amount of around $1.1 million.

Now that’s done, a video has surfaced on social media showing the $40 million first-ever Ferrari Luce EV casually leaving the auction block amidst a large number of people lined up on either side to get a glimpse and record it on their devices.

This Luce has a Madreperla Semi-Gloss exterior finish with matching wheels and brake calipers. On the inside, it features a special plaque that confirms that it’s Ferrari’s first series-production electric car. As for the performance, it is powered by four electric motors, and together they produce 1050 hp, which is enough to pull this EV from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds.

It is to be noted that the proceeds from the sale of the first-ever Luce will be donated to the Ferrari Foundation to support its future educational initiatives.
