The upcoming Jaguar Type 01 electric GT has been spotted testing in the UAE, possibly marking the first sighting of the much-anticipated EV in the region.
A video shared on social media shows the heavily camouflaged prototype first exiting a gas station – rather amusing for a fully electric vehicle. It is later seen driving on public roads, where its sheer length and low-slung proportions give it plenty of presence.
The camouflage continues to hide most exterior details, but Jaguar has already given us a look inside. The cabin takes inspiration from the 1980s, featuring “four individual spaces”, two-tone seats and a retro-looking two-spoke steering wheel.
Jaguar is expected to officially unveil the Type 01 in October, when we should finally get a proper look at its exterior.
Performance is expected to be suitably serious. Reports suggest a tri-motor electric powertrain producing more than 1,000 hp and 959 lb-ft of torque.
