Toyota led US new EV sales growth last month with a refreshed lineup of electric SUVs. The Toyota bZ remains a top-selling EV in August Lower-priced models helped push new electric vehicle sales up 2.5% in August from the month prior, with around 78,895 units sold. That’s still down 46.9% from last August, when buyers were still rushing to claim the federal $7,500 EV tax credit, but there’s some good news. The next Maserati EV might originate from China. The carmaker is reportedly in talks with JAC Motors and Huawei to develop and manufacture two new electric vehicles. According to media reports, JAC Motors will handle engineering and manufacturing, while Huawei will supply its HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility platform, Qiankun ADS driver assistance software and electric drive components. The new electric vehicles planned include an SUV and a grand tourer, which will be positioned alongside the Grecale Folgore and GranTurismo Folgore models, respectively.
