Automobili Estrema has its eyes on the prize. While the company is among the newer brands in the competitive hypercar market, they’re already aiming to set records at Nürburgring. Specifically, Automobili Estrema wants to set the fastest lap time with its Fulminea model.
The Fulminea is blazing fast, with an all-electric engine that cranks out more than 2,000 horsepower and a staggering 3,300 ft-lb torque. The hypercar is also expected to top 200 miles per hour in less than 10 seconds. It can also hit 60 miles per hour in less than 2 seconds.
Still, while those specs are respectable, you’re not likely to set records on one of the most famed testing grounds in the world simply by turning out a lot of horses. The Fulminea also features cutting-edge aerodynamics that will reduce drag and help the car stick on the road. When it comes to record lap times, these sorts of details are just as crucial as acceleration and the like.
This hypercar offers great prowess elsewhere as well. Most drivers likely won’t be taking the Fulminea on long road trips. While hypercars offer unbeatable performance, they’re meant for short and fast jaunts, not lengthy tours. That said, cutting-edge batteries should allow the Fulminea to get at least 300 miles in range. For an electric hypercar, that’s more than respectable.
Of course, that performance and distance come at a steep price. The Fulminea is expected to cost north of $2 million dollars. Quite likely, this hypercar will be produced in limited numbers, so even if you have the cash, you may struggle to get your hands on one.
