Ferrari has revealed what it says is the most extreme iteration of the 296 GTB, the 296 GT Modificata. It’s a track car based on the 2026 296 GT3 Evo.
The new Ferrari 296 GT Modificata features a new front splitter, engine cover, and a massive rear spoiler. It has a full race-spec interior complete with a racing bucket seat with harness, a racing dash and steering wheel.

The 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine has been upgraded with new connecting rods and camshafts. It also has a new air intake, intercooler, turbochargers, and exhaust system. The changes raise the rev limit by 500 rpm to 8500 rpm and increase engine output to 720 hp. Ferrari has also tweaked the gear ratios and improved the brakes.
Ferrari says the 296 GT Modificata can lap the Fiorano test track in 1 min 11 seconds. That’s 3 seconds quicker than the 296 GT3 Evo.
