Lamborghini has presented the Italian State Police with its latest supercar, the Temerario, continuing a tradition spanning more than 2 decades.

The new Temerario Polizia was recently handed over to Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi by Lamborghini’s Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. The handover ceremony took place at the Sant’Agata Bolognese HQ.

The Temerario Polizia will be used for the most important services, including the emergency transport of organs and medical supplies. The supercar is painted in a special two-tone police livery complete with a set of flashing lights on top.

Powering the Temerario Polizia is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 hybrid. The internal combustion engine produces 789 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with three electric motors that provide an additional boost of 148 hp and 221 lb-ft, for a combined output of 907 hp and 538.42 ft-lb.

The collaboration with Lamborghini and the Italian State Police dates back to 2004, when the first Gallardo was handed over to the cops. Later, the Gallardo LP 560-4 and the Huracán were also deployed on police duty. An Urus Performante joined the fleet in 2023.

In total, six vehicles have entered the fleet of the Italian State Police over more than twenty years. These special vehicles have played a part in over 200 organ transport missions across Italy, and regularly feature at road safety education events.
