Jaguar is all set to unveil the Type 01 electric GT on October 6. What is undoubtedly one of the most controversial cars of modern times, the production-spec Type 01 will be presented in New York in a few hours from now. In case you’re still wondering what the fuss is about, here’s the first leaked image of the new Jaguar EV.
The production version of the Type 01 retains the same overall design of the concept car. In fact, it looks slightly better. The front fascia isn’t as featureless as the original concept, thanks to the blacked-out elements and LED lighting.
The Type 01 has the stately look of a limousine. It has a high shoulder line with flush-fitting door handles and tiny windows, which makes the mirrors look enormous. The charging port is located on the front fender.
Jag’s new electric car will have a neo-retro-style interior. It will feature a simple dashboard with a small vertical touchscreen in the center, a wide digital driver info display, and a 2-spoke steering wheel.
The Jaguar Type 01 is expected to be powered by a tri-motor electric powertrain producing more than 1,000 hp and 959 lb-ft of torque.
