The EV3 is now on sale as Kia’s most affordable electric vehicle, starting at $29,890. So, how much does it cost to lease?

2027 Kia EV3 prices and lease rates

Kia’s compact electric SUV is finally on sale in the US. Starting at just $29,890, the EV3 is one of the most affordable EVs on the market, alongside the new Chevy Bolt and Nissan LEAF.

The 2027 Kia EV3 is available in five trims: Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and a range-topping GT model.

It’s offered with two battery packs, offering an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 321 miles. The base EV3 Light has a 58.3 kWh battery that provides up to 221 miles of range, while the Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT use an 81.4 kWh battery for up to 321 miles of range.

Front-wheel-drive (FWD) models have a single 201-horsepower electric motor. Upgrading to all-wheel-drive (AWD) costs $3,200 but adds a rear electric motor for a combined 261 horsepower.

If you really want to get crazy, the $46,000 EV3 GT bumps up the power with up to 288 horsepower and adds a bit of flair with Kia’s exclusive GT design elements.

All EV3 trims come with a standard NACS port so that drivers can use Tesla Superchargers without a separate adapter.

The 58.3 kWh battery takes about 29 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, while the 81.4 kWh takes around 31 minutes.

Inside, all models feature Kia’s latest ccNC (connected car Navigation Cockpit) with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The setup offers nearly 30″ of combined screens, including a dual 12.3″ instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment, plus a 5″ climate control display.

So how much does it cost to lease? Kia is now advertising 2027 EV3 leases starting at $349 a month.

Keep in mind, however, that the offer is for the EV3 Wind FWD model with $3,999 due at signing for 24 months. The 2027 Kia EV3 Wind AWD version has a special lease offer of $399 for 24 months with $3,999 due at signing.

Kia is also offering 0.90% APR financing for up to 48 months. The base $30,000 Light FWD trim still does not currently have any available lease offers.

At an effective cost of $515 a month, the EV3 Wind FWD is still cheaper to lease than the 2027 Chevy Bolt.

The 2027 Chevy Bolt FWD LT is listed at $419 a month for 36 months with $5,119 due at signing. That’s an effective cost of $561 a month, or nearly $50 more than the EV3.

Kia’s compact electric SUV also took the title of “America’s most affordable 315+ mile range EV” from the Chevy Equinox EV, offering up to 321 miles for about $35,000.

Which one would you drive? The Kia EV3, Chevy Bolt, or Chevy Equinox? Drop your pick in the comments.
