Pagani Reveals the Huayra Codalunga Speedster

Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster

Pagani has taken the art of coachbuilding to a new level with the debut of the Huayra Codalunga Speedster, a stunning, roofless version of its long-tail hypercar. Inspired by the endurance racers of the 1960s, the Speedster is more than just an open-air machine—it’s a celebration of pure design, performance, and craftsmanship. Only 10 examples will be built, making it one of the most exclusive offerings ever produced by the Italian marque. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2026.

Design Inspired by the Golden Age of Racing

The Codalunga Speedster retains the elegant silhouette of the original coupe but takes things a step further with its open-top layout. The long-tail rear, a nod to 1960s Le Mans prototypes, enhances aerodynamic efficiency while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic. The absence of a roof gives the car a more dramatic profile and provides a visceral connection to the elements.

The interior is a masterclass in detail and materials. Hand-machined aluminum knobs, exposed gear linkages, and intricate custom stitching—over 450,000 stitches per car—showcase Pagani’s obsessive attention to detail. Every surface, from the pedals to the switchgear, is a blend of artistry and functionality.

Twin-Turbo V12 with a Manual Option

At the heart of the Codalunga Speedster is Pagani’s signature 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, developed in collaboration with AMG. The engine produces 864 horsepower, delivering immense power to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automated manual transmission.

However, for the first time in a Codalunga, and only the second time in the Huayra lineup, Pagani is offering a gated six-speed manual gearbox. This rare option is aimed squarely at purists who value mechanical engagement over lap times. It’s a bold move that reinforces the brand’s commitment to analog driving in a digital world.

Lightweight Engineering

Built on a carbon-titanium monocoque chassis, the Codalunga Speedster is designed to be incredibly light and rigid. The suspension features forged aluminum double wishbones, paired with adjustable dampers for precise handling. Massive Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes provide stopping power worthy of the car’s performance, while Pirelli Trofeo R tires ensure grip in all conditions.

Despite its luxury touches, the Speedster is a performance-focused machine, capable of delivering track-ready dynamics with the comfort and elegance expected from Pagani.

Exclusive by Design

Just ten units of the Huayra Codalunga Speedster will be made, each tailored to the individual preferences of its buyer. From bespoke paint schemes to one-off interior finishes, no two cars will be alike. Pagani refers to these projects as “rolling sculptures,” and in the case of the Speedster, that title is well deserved.

This limited production not only enhances the car’s collectability but also reflects Pagani’s philosophy of quality over quantity. Each car is a reflection of its owner’s personality, crafted with the same care as a piece of fine art.
