Stark Future has already turned its ridiculously powerful electric dirt bike into a street-going supermoto – upon which I recently got to cruise the streets and cities around Barcelona (more on that experience coming soon). But now the company is taking that concept in an even darker direction with the new Stark VARG SM Sköll, a limited-edition, nearly completely blacked-out version of the 80 hp electric supermoto.
And when I say limited, I mean it. Stark says it will build just 500 numbered examples worldwide, with no second production run planned. And based on the rate that Stark is selling bikes, those 500 units aren’t likely to stick around very long.
The name comes from Norse mythology, where Sköll is the wolf that hunts the sun across the sky, eventually destined to catch and devour it. That explains both the name and the rather extreme commitment to blacking out seemingly everything Stark could get its hands on.
Based on the existing VARG SM, the Sköll gets Stark’s full ALPHA specification with 80 hp of peak power as well as tunable Dynamic Traction Control. The underlying bike remains largely unchanged, including the structural 7.2 kWh battery pack, single-speed drivetrain, chassis architecture, and carbon-fiber-sleeved motor with integrated inverter.
But Stark didn’t simply spray a VARG SM black and call it a day. That blackout comes from manufacturing changes, not black airbrushing.
The company says essentially every eligible component received some form of black treatment through anodizing, powder coating, or other finishing processes. That includes the upper and lower triple clamps, steering stem, swingarm, motor housing, inverter casing, charging port cap, docking station, and even the handlebar map switch.
The black anodized triple clamps also receive individual limited-edition engraving.
There is one conspicuous exception to all that darkness: the 520 RK MXU chain retains its gold finish, contrasting against a black 7075 T6 rear sprocket.
Stark also put the Sköll on a bit of a diet.
New 3D-printed titanium footpegs save 140 grams compared to the standard parts, while a complete titanium bolt kit cuts another 900 grams. Together, that trims 1.1 kg (2.4 lb) from the bike, bringing the claimed weight down from 124.5 kg (274.5 lb) for the standard VARG SM to 123.4 kg (272 lb).
That makes the Sköll the lightest VARG SM Stark has produced.
Admittedly, replacing nearly a kilogram’s worth of bolts with titanium probably sits pretty high on the diminishing-returns end of the weight-saving spectrum. But after personally seeing the collection of room-sized titanium 3D printers at Stark’s production facility recently, that’s also exactly the sort of unnecessary excess I’d expect from their 500-unit special edition of an 80 hp electric supermoto.
And considering the VARG platform’s already absurd power-to-weight ratio, shaving off another couple of pounds certainly isn’t going to hurt. The crazy experience is only going to get a bit crazier.
The Stark VARG SM Sköll’ 500 units will start with their first deliveries scheduled for October 2026.
For anyone who looked at the regular VARG SM and thought, “This is great, but it needs more titanium and less color,” it looks like your motorcycle has just arrived.
