John Ternus took over as the new Chief Executive Officer of Apple earlier this month. He succeeds Tim Cook, who led the California-based tech giant for 15 years. As it turns out, the new CEO is not just a tech nerd but also a car enthusiast.
Ternus reportedly owns a rare Porsche that few can afford: a Porsche 935 track car. He has even said to have posted a sub-1 min 40 sec lap time at Laguna Seca.
The Porsche 935 is inspired by the legendary Le Mans race car from the 1970s dubbed ‘Moby Dick’. Only 77 were built, with each costing upwards of $800,000. Today, these cars fetch well over $1 million.
The Porsche 935 is based on the 911 GT2 RS and features a redesigned carbon fibre exterior and an extended tail section with a massive wing. It is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that makes 700 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque.
