Elon Musk confirmed Tuesday that Tesla and SpaceX have each formed special committees of independent directors to study a possible merger, the first formal step toward combining the two companies after months of speculation. The global mining giant and California-based Rondo Energy have started engineering and design work on a huge heat battery near Gladstone, Queensland. Toyota is recalling more than 100,000 Land Cruiser SUVs in the US over a potential fuel leak that could increase the risk of fire. The recall covers 105,794 examples of the 2024-2027 Land Cruiser, making it one of the larger campaigns for the current J250-generation SUV. The issue involves a retaining clip connecting the fuel tubes between the tank and engine. If the clip becomes lifted, the connection could allow fuel to leak from the resin tube attached to the fuel tank.
