Genesis is growing faster than any luxury marque to date, but this is just the start. Genesis is becoming more than just a luxury automaker Genesis is blowing past expectations, even its own. After becoming its own standalone luxury brand in 2015, the automaker was told it would never work. The odds were against them. Over the past ten years, Genesis has grown faster than any luxury marque in history. It took just 7 years and…
Tesla Cybertruck’s three configurations are all the same on the outside from an appearance perspective, but they differ slightly in price, range, performance, and other features. After yesterday’s price adjustment, Tesla’s Base All-Wheel-Drive Cybertruck is now priced at $74,990, a far cry from the $59,990 it started at several months ago. At $60,000, the Cybertruck All-Wheel-Drive is a steal: no pickup, electric or gas-powered, comes close in terms of overall driving capability thanks to Steer-by-Wire; no truck is more fun to drive at that price, and add in Full Self-Driving for $99 per month, and you truly have the best…
Volvo EVs are getting new safety features via a software update. The EX60, EX90, and ES90 in the U.S. and Canada will get four new safety alerts based on data collected from other vehicles on the road. One could help you avoid hitting a deer or other animal. The Volvo EX60 can see into the future. Well, sort of. It can see into your future. In 2016, the Swedish automaker launched its connected safety technology, which uses data collected about road hazards from other vehicles to alert you about upcoming dangers. Now, it’s expanding on that tech with new features that…

Image: Voltpost Voltpost made its name turning lampposts into EV chargers. Now it wants to hang them from garage ceilings and bolt them to apartment-building walls. The New York-based startup has launched two new versions of its Voltpost Air Level 2 charger: the Voltpost Air Ceiling Mount, designed for parking garages, and the Surface Mount, which attaches to walls and pedestals. Both are aimed at property owners who want to add EV charging without digging up a parking lot or carrying out a major garage renovation. Voltpost says the chargers can be installed in hours with little or no trenching,…

Bafang has never exactly been known for building timid e-bike motors, but its latest pair of high-performance e-MTB drives takes things to a whole new level. We’re talking up to 1,700 watts of peak power, 150 Nm of torque, and 800% pedal assistance. At that point, “pedal assist” is starting to do some pretty heavy lifting as a phrase. The new Bafang M510RS and M560RS are production versions of motors first shown as concepts at Eurobike last year. They’re set to make their official production debut at the Italian Bike Festival in Misano, Italy, September 4-6, ahead of series production…
Honda Will Keep Building Manual-Transmission Cars Even Though The Company Admits Demand Is Shrinking
Honda says it will continue offering manual transmissions in enthusiast cars despite declining demand. Honda executive Lance Woelfer acknowledged that the percentage of buyers interested in manuals continues to shrink. Honda recently paused production of the Civic Si, with an all-new version expected in the coming years. We all know the manual transmission isn’t nearly as popular as it once was, but some automakers endeavour to keep the old-school shifter alive—at least for a little while longer. Honda is one of the few automakers that still offers a manual transmission in the US, but even Honda execs admit the gearbox…
A group of Chicago business leaders have announced plan to launch what they’re calling, “the first airport express train in the US.” The O’Hare Flyer is a fully electric train that will offer non-stop rides between downtown Chicago and America’s busiest airfield. The planned fully electric train route has been pieced together, Ticket to Ride-style, using freight rail right-of-way currently owned by three Class I railroads: CSX, Canadian National (CN), and Union Pacific (UP). The O’Hare Flyer group has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with CSX and says it’s moving forward with the other carriers as well. “By combining…
While not a real S351, today’s Nice Price or No Dice Mustang GT has enough Saleen badges and parts to at least pull off the look. Let’s see if we like the look of this wannabe’s price tag. There are certain species of dung beetles that gather up the poop of herbivores, shape it into a ball, and then roll that ball—backward, mind you—a safe distance away so as not to get trampled by an errant hoof or buried under a freshly dropped steamer. Industrious and efficient, these detritivores are an important part of most ecosystems. We just tend to…
