Having introduced the 296 Speciale, Ferrari is now working on yet another track-focused version of its V6 hybrid supercar. Looking at the spy images, it appears to be a road-legal version of the 296 Challenge race car. It could be called the 296 Challenge Stradale, and from what we’ve heard, it is likely to debut in November this year. Sources have told us that the 296 Challenge Stradale won’t be a limited-edition model with a production cap, just like the Speciale. The biggest difference between the Speciale and the upcoming 296 CS will be in its engine. While the Speciale…

It seems that Porsche is only getting started with its Sonderwunsch program. The German automaker plans to expand its bespoke program with more ambitious one-off projects, giving wealthy customers considerably more freedom to create cars to their taste. According to Alexander Fabig, Porsche’s vice president of product and individualisation, several more long-term projects are already underway and will be revealed over the coming months and years. Most one-off builds take around three years to complete, with the recently revealed Flachbau RS requiring 39 months and three development cars. Kamilpetran/Getty Images Saving the world from robots xnk/Shutterstock Nobody told me the robot revolution would be this smoggy. To save ourselves from the robots, the same massive tech companies that are making them have a solution: go to space. Data centers need round the clock power, which solar can’t do because of, you know, night (though batteries are helping make up the difference). So why not simply put giant mirrors into space to reflect sunlight at all times?  This plan (which sounds more like a supervillain’s plot to melt the ice caps) is now an actual plan from Meta. If…

The Bugatti Tourbillon Équipe Pur Sang features an enormous 8.3-litre V16, but we’ve found a driver’s-eye video from Pebble Beach that shows just how quickly this naturally aspirated monster can climb through the rev range. Captured from behind the wheel, the footage shows the Tourbillon being revved several times, and the response is genuinely startling. Despite the engine’s size, the V16 spins up so fast that it feels more like a much smaller performance engine, like that of a superbike. We also shared a video earlier this week in which Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac can be seen having a fun…
