Dodge Hornet GLH reportedly starts production in 2025

A couple of years ago, Dodge rolled out a pair of Hornet GLH concepts to showcase various tuner parts it was considering offering through its Direct Connection aftermarket parts portfolio. Now, there’s talk that a Hornet GLH model is headed for production—and soon.

Quoting comments made by Dodge CEO Matt McAlear during a January interview, The Drive has reported that a Hornet GLH will enter production later in 2025. The timing suggests the vehicle will arrive as a 2026 model for the U.S.

This isn’t the first time a senior Dodge official has hinted at a production version of the Hornet GLH concepts. In a 2022 interview, former Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis—now CEO of Ram—told Motor Authority that a GLH had been in the works since the earliest days of the Hornet’s development.

The GLH designation is a nod to the Carroll Shelby-influenced Dodge Omni GLH of the 1980s and stands for “Go Like Hell” (or “heck,” depending on who you ask).

Dodge Hornet R/T GLH concept

For the Hornet GLH concepts, Dodge had one each based on both the Hornet GT and Hornet R/T models. The company didn’t reveal many details about the upgrades on the concepts, aside from “stage kits” that offered power boosts, lowered suspension, and various styling options.

The Hornet GT currently features a 2.0-liter turbo-4 producing 268 hp, while the R/T swaps in a plug-in hybrid system rated at 288 hp.

Dodge may have more good news coming for Hornet fans shortly. According to The Drive, McAlear also stated that the Hornet’s base price will drop this year to $29,995, down from the current $33,180, including destination. He also mentioned that other models could see price reductions by removing some standard features from higher trims and offering them as part of new option packages.
