Ford has been developing its new Le Mans hypercar for quite a while now. We’ve seen its bits and pieces earlier when Ford fired it up for the first time, and also when it was put through a simulated lap test. Well, now things are getting even more real.

It appears that the American auto giant has finally begun track testing its Le Mans hypercar. A video on social media has captured the race machine doing some hot laps at Circuit Paul Ricard in France.

The footage shows a camouflaged prototype being pushed around the corners of the French track. Its overall silhouette is very much like what you’d expect from a Le Mans race machine. Even better is its incredible sound. The 5.4L engine is based on Ford’s familiar Coyote architecture but heavily reworked and is paired with a hybrid system, as required by LMDh regulations.

As we earlier reported, Ford is going to track test its Le Mans hypercar across several European circuits. Six factory drivers—Logan Sargeant, Mike Rockenfeller, Sebastian Priaulx, Matt Campbell, Nick Yelloly and Tom Blomqvist—will put the machine through proper beating.
