Genesis GV60 on tracks becomes mountain rescue EV

Genesis used the backdrop of the 2025 World Economic Forum gathering last week in Davos, Switzerland, to present a GV60 concept where the wheels were swapped for snow tracks.

The idea was to showcase Genesis’ design and innovation skills by turning the electric compact crossover into something that could serve as a mountain rescue vehicle during the ski season.

The resulting concept, dubbed the Genesis GV60 Mountain Intervention Vehicle, or MIV for short, is described by Genesis as an ideal rescue vehicle for rugged terrain and challenging weather conditions.

In addition to its snow tracks, which required large fender flares made from carbon fiber for shielding, the vehicle also includes a custom heavy-duty roof rack, a custom tailgate rack, medical equipment, a drone, and bidirectional charging to power any equipment in the field.

This marks the third consecutive year that Genesis has shown one of its concepts at Davos, following the X Snow Speedium concept last year and the X coupe concept in 2023.

While there aren’t any plans to put the concept into production, Genesis is working on new versions of the GV60 bound for the showroom. The next is a high-performance GV60 Magma, which has been spotted testing ahead of an expected debut later this year.

Genesis is also expected to introduce an update to the GV60 range shortly, likely for the 2026 model year in the U.S. Already introduced overseas, the updates include slightly revised exterior and interior styling alongside a larger 84-kwh battery.
