McLaren has unveiled a new logo for its next generation of cars, and this time the British supercar maker has gone right back to its roots for inspiration.
The new minimalist wordmark takes its cues from the signage that once appeared above the McLaren family workshop in Auckland, New Zealand. The garage belonged to the parents of company founder Bruce McLaren, who developed his passion for cars and engineering while spending time and helping out there.
It is a fitting connection as McLaren prepares for a major expansion of its model range. The new branding will gradually appear across the company’s cars, merchandise and digital platforms.
The recently unveiled McL 6GT is the first model to wear the new identity. Revealed at Monterey Car Week in California last month, it features the McLaren name spelled out prominently across the rear.
Future models are expected to follow the same approach.
