Ram’s Baby TRX Pickup Has The Look, The Plaque, And None Of The Power

  • Ram unveiled the Rampage Rebel Ignition capped at 400 units.
  • The Brazilian-built unibody truck wears TRX-inspired styling.
  • Power comes from a 272 hp gasoline or a 200 hp turbodiesel.

The Ram Rampage is a compact unibody truck that has been on sale in South America since mid-2023, sitting at the bottom of the lineup on both size and price. Keeping a truck like that in the conversation two and a half years in takes more than a spec sheet, so Stellantis has answered with a Brazil-only special edition, TRX-inspired styling included, and capped the run at 400 numbered units.

} else {

}
});

The Ignition Limited Special Edition builds on the off-road-focused Ram Rampage Rebel, with exterior and interior changes reserved for the trucks that qualify.

The highlight is the exclusive Pacific Blue metallic paint with contrasting black accents on the roof, mirrors, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Rampage also gains matte black graphics on the hood and the bed sides, alongside a factory sports bar. Elsewhere, the rugged bumpers with skid plates and the black grille are carried over from the Rebel.

Inside, the 5,028 mm (198 inches) long truck combines sporty touches with premium materials. The cabin is upholstered in black leather and suede, with aluminum accents and blue stitching on the steering wheel, door cards, center console, and dashboard. A cool touch is the numbered plaque on the dashboard, distinguishing it from the regular Rampage trims.

Standard kit runs to a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, illuminated scuff plates with Ram logos, rubber floor mats, seven airbags, and a Level 2+ ADAS suite.

The Hardware Underneath Is Untouched

}
});

For all the TRX-inspired attitude, the Ignition adds nothing to the standard Rebel’s performance or chassis. Even the tires are the same grippy Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus rubber the Rebel already came with.

Under the hood we find two familiar non-electrified four-cylinder powertrain options shared with the rest of the Rampage family. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine burns gasoline and ethanol producing up to 272 hp (203 kW / 276 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, while the 2.2-liter turbodiesel is good for 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.

Both engines are exclusively mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and come standard with a 4×4 Auto drive system featuring electronic 4WD lock and low-range gearing. Note that the Rampage rides on the Small Wide unibody architecture that’s shared with the Fiat Toro, Jeep Compass, Jeep Commander, Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet. Buyers who want ladder frame underpinnings have to upgrade to the midsize Ram Dakota.

});

The Ram Rampage Rebel Ignition will be produced in a limited number of 400 units for Brazil. Pricing starts at R$ 250,990 ($48,800) for the gasoline version and R$ 270,990 ($52,600) for the diesel. This means the Ignition is actually R$ 9,000 ($1,800) cheaper compared to the original price of the gasoline Rampage Rebel it is based on, although the latter is currently offered with a R$ 40,000 ($7,800) factory discount.
