Latvian automaker Dartz Vehicles recently announced that it was building a real-life version of the HVY Nightshark from GTA Online. We now know that it even has an ejection seat from a fighter jet.
Dartz has released digital renderings showing the interior of the HVY Nightshark. Instead of a conventional cabin, the SUV’s rear compartment has been transformed into a private gaming area, complete with a gaming console paired with a massive LED screen and a high-end sound system and Metaxas & Sins electrostatic headphones.
When we say ‘private’, the car only has a single passenger seat, which is actually a former fighter-jet ejection seat with a 5-point harness mounted right in the centre of the cabin.
“The obvious solution for a million-dollar car is two massage seats in the back,” said Leonard F. Yankelovich, founder of Dartz. “But this is the Nightshark. It came from a game. So the customer wanted the whole world of the game inside it.”
“He knew our history and he knew we could go extreme with materials. But he was very clear: no real animal skin. Give me the luxury, the comfort and the drama, but do it without killing the animal.”
“And GTA is not just cars. That is why the throne comes from a fighter jet. That is why the buckle became a weapon wheel. And that is why the whole project comes down to one sentence: drive the Nightshark from inside the Nightshark.”
