  • A total of 201,976 vehicles from Jeep are being recalled in the United States.
  • A software issue can prevent the TPMS from detecting low tire pressure.
  • Dealers have been instructed to update the TPMS software free of charge.

Jeep is warning owners of numerous models in the United States that the tire pressure monitoring systems they may rely on may stop functioning due to a software issue, prompting a widespread recall impacting more than 200,000 vehicles.

It’s been revealed that if a software issue affects the TPMS, it will be unable to accurately detect low tire pressure or illuminate a low tire pressure warning sign. Back in the old days, it was up to motorists to manually monitor their tire pressures, but now, millions of drivers rely on tire pressure monitoring systems to take out all the guesswork.
