The new R-dog delivery robot hopes to replace your local gig-workers with a friendly face, red cap, approachable design, and even furry tail – all cute and adorable, until it poops your package onto your porch. Oh, and it runs ads the entire time. If losing your job to an autonomous dog robot isn’t quite dystopian enough for your tastes, have you considered putting a furry tail, MAGA red hat, and two TVs that run nothing but ads on it? Robot.com certainly have, and they’re hoping that the robot’s expressive “eyes” and chunky aesthetics of the R-dog delivery robot concept they…
The Pagani Zonda Cervino was recently spotted in London. Automotive photographer Freddie Atkins even got to ride in the passenger seat of this one-off hypercar. The Zonda Cervino is actually based on the Oliver Evo Roadster chassis. The current owner, @whitessejr purchased the car and got it rebuilt and customised to his preferences through Pagani’s Unico programme. The Zonda Cervino carries forward much of the sporty exterior bits of the donor car, but the new colour combination gives it a more classy look. It has a two-tone exterior in metallic blue and exposed carbon fibre, while the interior has been…
The numbers 666 and 13 don’t have the best of reputations in certain circles, but Chinese car brand Nio hopes its latest Firefly hatchback will have better luck with them – offering a limited run of 666 special edition EVs at a price that’s 13% higher than usual. Nio launched the a Club Spiaggia special edition of its Firefly EV this week, along with news that gussied-up hatchback would begin arriving at Firefly retailers across China as early as today. “The firefly ‘spiaggia edition’ has officially launched, with just 666 units available,” reads the company site’s official copy. “The model is…
Demand for MacGregor’s maritime cranes has been strong in the first half of 2026, and Swedish heavy lift experts say their electric offerings are now making up more than 80% of the company’s new crane orders. Over the last fifteen years, more than 600 international container ships have already been fitted with MacGregor’s electric cranes – and the global demand for more electric cranes only seems to be accelerating. “I’m very happy to see that electric drive technology became a new industry standard as our customers see the significant benefits,” says Magnus Sjöberg, Executive Vice President, Merchant Solutions Division, MacGregor. “By…
American Honda’s CEO ‘would like to do’ the Nexera. The concept previews the automaker’s future design language on its upcoming models. The new styling will first show up on the new RDX. When Acura unveiled the Nexera earlier this month, the company said the car was nothing more than a design concept. It previews the brand’s future styling language, with the automaker having no real plans to put the car into production. But Acura isn’t totally opposed to the idea. The Nexera looks like a true sports car, with hidden lighting elements, butterfly doors, carbon fiber, and…
BYD just launched its 10,000th 1.5-megawatt Flash Charging station. This means it managed to double the size of its ultra-fast charging network in just five months. The automaker plans to hit 20,000 stations before the end of 2026. Not too long ago, BYD celebrated the rollout of its 5,000th ultra-fast Flash Charger back in April. Now—just five months later—the EV giant announced that it has doubled its charging network to a whopping 10,000 chargers across more than 300 different cities, according to a report from the Chinese news site IT Home. BYD said that this milestone makes it the Chinese automaker with…
While the doors themselves are very impressive, the engineering could be even more so. When the idea for a door system like this was first being conjured, Luc Donckerwolke, Hyundai Motor Group’s President and Chief Creative Officer, went to the company’s chairman and laid out the idea. During a roundtable with journalists, he described what was a “dark cloud” over the design team’s head, because the chairman said that the idea could only come to fruition if it was “safer than a car with a B-pillar.” I suppose that’s a fair request, but it’s certainly a tough one. “Suddenly we…
Volkswagen unveiled the first electric version of its California camper series. It’s based on the ID. Buzz van and is going on sale in Europe in both short and long wheelbase options. Americans don’t have to wait too long for their own version: the 2027 ID. Buzz Tourer. When InsideEVs Editor-in-Chief Mack Hogan reviewed the Volkswagen ID. Buzz a while back, he came away feeling like the van could’ve been so much more. It didn’t lean into that spirit of adventure that the old-school VW bus was known for, and after years of hype it wound up feeling like a…
BYD posted its first quarterly profit increase in more than a year, with second-quarter net profit rising 29.8% to 8.2 billion yuan ($1.22 billion) as a record surge in exports offset a weak Chinese market. The rebound ends four straight quarters of profit declines and reverses the 55.4% collapse BYD reported just three months earlier. The quarter turned, but the first half is still down Despite the Q2 recovery, BYD’s first-half results remain lower year-over-year. Revenue for the six months through June fell 7.13% to 344.82 billion yuan ($50.9 billion), and net profit attributable to shareholders dropped 20.54% to 12.33…
