SpaceX’s massive investment in AI will make it a big winner, Argus Research said after the company’s successful earnings call last week. The firm also upgraded shares to a Buy from Hold and set a $160 price target. SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) is currently recovering from its heavy AI infrastructure investments, as it spent nearly $16 billion in Q2 alone. The company did this primarily by monetizing high-demand GPU compute capacity at a much faster pace than traditional data center economics would suggest. Company CFO Bret Johnsen said that SpaceX would be able to pay back anything on new deployments within…
The Lucid Cosmos will blow past the Tesla Model Y and Rivian R2 in terms of driving range. It may be closer to models like the BMW iX3 and the Volvo EX60. Both the Air and the Gravity deliver well over 400 miles of range on a single charge. When the $50,000 Lucid Cosmos arrives in the U.S. next year, it will be one of America’s longest-range electric vehicles. While we already know a lot about the Cosmos’ underpinnings, its driving range has remained a mystery. But CEO Silvio Napoli recently spilled the beans on that front during a TV…
A new player in the industry, Avore, thinks its EX2S electric motorcycle could shake things up with impressive performance and accessible pricing. The Indian company is competing in a crowded market with several electric competitors, not to mention the litany of gasoline-powered motorcycles already crowding the showrooms. But with these figures, it may stand a chance. India is already the world’s largest two-wheeler market, selling more than 20 million motorcycles and scooters each year. Now this new electric motorcycle from startup Avore is showing just how quickly that market is evolving – and at a price that could make riders…
Sahara Las Vegas opened a new Vegas Loop station Thursday, giving The Boring Company’s underground transit system its northernmost stop yet on the Strip. The station sits at Sahara’s Paradise Road entrance, on the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, and connects riders to the Las Vegas Convention Center, other Strip resorts on the network and, eventually, Harry Reid International Airport. The addition makes Sahara the second resort, after Fontainebleau opened its own station in January, to get a stop built at street level rather than tucked into the property itself. Sahara now joins Westgate as the only…
Honda will start selling cars from its racing heritage fleet. Each car comes with a complete restoration by Honda’s racing team. The first car to be sold will be shown at Monterey Car Week. Honda has been scoring major points with enthusiasts lately. The company started offering new parts for the original NSX, and it’s also working on an even more hardcore Civic Type R. Now, Honda is moving on to its next big project: giving fans a chance to buy and restore some of its legendary race cars. Ahead of Monterey Car Week, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) announced its…
Tesla’s Autopilot with Full Self Driving is an impressive Level 2 advanced driver assistance system. But it isn’t anywhere near fault-proof and needs to be monitored closely while in use. Just ask San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, who was in a crash in his 2023 Tesla Model S on July 14. Not long after the crash, Shanahan told reporters in his office that the crash was his fault, despite the other driver initially being blamed. And he maintains that it was his fault, even after recently admitting that Autopilot was engaged during the accident. Shanahan says he was…
Tesla has filed for a $10.1 billion solar cell factory in Fort Bend County, Texas, under the codename “Project Crystal Sun,” according to a tax-incentive application posted by the Texas Comptroller. The filing pegs the plant at 9,712 permanent jobs, roughly 3,050 acres near Richmond, and commercial production starting in the first quarter of 2029. It’s the largest US manufacturing investment Tesla has ever put on paper. The application was signed on July 22 by a Tesla tax attorney and prepared by consulting firm Kroll. It’s a request for a 10-year property-tax break under Texas’s JETI program (Jobs, Energy, Technology…
If you’ve ever been driving at night and felt like the car behind you had too-bright headlights, that car might have been a Tesla, and it might have felt that way because its lights broke the rules. Tesla has issued a recall on over 20,349 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles which have low-beam headlights that exceed the maximum brightness. Unlike many Tesla recalls, this one seems like it will require a physical fix, rather than a software update. The recall covers 18,735 Model Y vehicles from 2020-2023 and 1,614 Model 3s from 2017-2023. Affected vehicles have headlamp assembly 1077371-98-L…

Tesla has filed paperwork in Texas for a second massive manufacturing project in the same week it locked down its chip fabrication site, this time for a $10.1 billion solar cell plant in Fort Bend County. The filing, submitted July 22 under the state’s Jobs, Energy, Technology and Innovation Act and first surfaced by Sawyer Merritt on X, lists an internal project name of “Project Crystal Sun” and targets a site off FM 762 and FM 1994 near Richmond, about 40 minutes outside Houston. Tesla is planning to build a $10.1 billion vertically integrated solar cell manufacturing facility in Fort…
