Kia’s 7-seat PV5 electric van is now eligible for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG), bringing the starting price down to £35,495 ($47,000).
Kia PV5 7-seat gains ECG eligibility
The PV5, Kia’s first dedicated electric van, has been a huge success. It’s primarily sold in two body types: Cargo for commercial use and Passenger, designed as an everyday family hauler.
In June, Kia launched the PV5 Passenger 7-seat, adding a third row. The new 2-2-3 seating arrangement opens up best-in-class legroom of up to 1,732 mm, headroom of up to 1,075 mm, and shoulder room of up to 1,732 mm.
After opening orders for the 2027 PV5, Kia said all 5-seat variants were eligible for a £1,500 Government Electric Car Grant (ECG), but it would announce eligibility for the 7-seater shortly.
Kia confirmed on Friday that all grades of the PV5 Passenger 7-seater are also eligible for a £1,500 ECG.
Including the grant, Kia’s 7-seat electric people mover now starts at just £35,495 ($47,000), on-the-road (OTR).

The 7-seat electric van is available exclusively with the long-range 71.2 kWh battery in the UK, providing up to 246 miles of WLTP range.
With DC fast charging of up to 150 kW, the vehicle’s battery can recharge from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes.
All Kia PV5 variants, including the Cargo and Passenger, are available to order through Kia PBV centers across the UK. You can learn more and find Kia PBVs near you on Kia’s UK website.
Kia offers a full lineup of electric cars in the UK, including the new EV2, EV3, EV4, and PV5 Passenger, all eligible for the ECG.

With an electric vehicle in nearly every segment, Kia became “Europe’s fastest-growing top 10 passenger-car brand YTD” through August. Between January and August 2026, Kia registered 377,078 vehicles, up 9% from the same period last year.
In the UK, Kia is the second-best-selling electric car brand, behind only Tesla, through the first nine months of 2026.
Next year, Kia will launch the PV7 (check it out here), a larger electric van with enough space for nine passengers.
